JOB SUMMARY

The Information Assurance Specialist will play a critical role providing PMO support to a high-visibility Acquisition Category (ACAT) I program within the Marine Corps’ Program Executive Office Land Systems (PEO LS) portfolio. Specifically, you will be responsible for Information Assurance (IA) analysis of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and develops IA recommendations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform complex analysis, design, development, integration, testing and debugging of computer systems and provide security engineering designs to implement all aspects of Information Assurance (IA) and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering at all program stages.
  • Provide analysis of IA systems – including functional and empirical analysis related to design, development and implementation of secure systems for package accreditation.
  • Conduct IA system security assessment – includes identification and mitigation of system security risks and threats
  • Analyze and assist in validation of system security requirements definition
  • Assist establishment of system security designs and implement security designs in hardware, software, data, and IA procedure
  • Assists in analyzing, scanning, and testing, IT systems including network scans, regression tests, and functional security software tests
  • Supports requirements analysis of the Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) items with testing capabilities to meet Automatic Test Systems (ATS) requirements for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Programs. General-support requirements include technology assessments and commodity specific ATS studies
  • Researches and analyzes the acquisition, fielding, and lifecycle management of a wide range of test systems and equipment, and tool sets
  • Submits and updates all IA documentation via Government Information Systems
  • Reviews and updates the Defense IA Risk Management Framework (DIARMF) Certification and Accreditation processes
  • Updates program documentation and performs database management in accordance with schedules that support readiness and sustainment goals.
  • Analyzes, recommends and reports trend analyses of new and emerging technologies.
  • Performs Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans
  • Applies security, operating systems and software patches
  • Develops and implements information assurance/ security standards and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an accredited college or university
  • Eight (8) and ten (10) years of related experience
  • Certified as an Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level II, as set forth in DOD instruction 8570.01M (CISSP, GSLC, CASP ce, CAP, CISM or equivalent)
  • Possess knowledge of Common Operating Environments
  • Experience with USMC and systems admin; Familiarity with USMC package tracking and accreditation tools to include but not limited to MCCAST and XACTA
  • Familiarity with security analytical/vulnerability assessments tools
  • Experience conducting defense device system installation, configuration maintenance, account maintenance
  • Signature maintenance, patch management, and troubleshooting of all implemented, maintained, and deployed systems across enterprise
  • Experience performing certification and accreditations by reviewing documentation and providing recommendations
  • Experience with USMC and systems admin; Familiarity with USMC package tracking and accreditation tools to include but not limited to MCCAST and XACTA
  • * Familiarity with security analytical/vulnerability assessments tools
  • * Experience conducting defense device system installation, configuration maintenance, account maintenance,

  • Active SECRET clearance is required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) and MS Visio
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of an integrated team of Government and non-Government staff required.
  • The ability to coordinate with program stakeholders and to work issues to closure
